    Our family's experience

(I wrote this 6 years ago...)

Our family has just gone through a very stressful time as my seven year old son recently spent 12 days in the hospital. It was difficult for all of us, and made even more difficult because the hospital is a scent-free environment and I was unable to freely use my essential oils. (Although, I still snuck a drop of frankincense on the bottoms of his feet in the morning and at night).

Today was our first full day back at home, and I offered my son an AromaTouch Technique session. Since he is like his dad and can't lie still for long periods of time, I didn't follow the technique to a tee, but I applied ~ 2 drops of each of the oils to his spine and gently massaged them along his spine. He told me that it helped his belly, which was sore, and it also helped to relax him.

It was a beautiful experience for the two of us to share as I comforted my son with my loving touch and the healing oils. And inhaling the scents of all 8 of the oils layered over each other was very healing for us both.

This technique is so calming and balancing for the system. My friend, Jaime, typically picks a couple of the AromaTouch technique oils (usually lavender, AromaTouch, Balance and sometimes wild orange), and puts them on her young daughters' backs and feet. She finds that the girls are extremely mellow and relaxed after.

    Clary Calm for hormonal support

Clary Calm is our favourite blend for regulating our hormones and emotional balance. It's great for PMS symptoms, hot flashes, pre-menopausal symptoms and more. It can help balance your mood throughout the month, not just during menstruation.

Clary Calm is a blend of
    • Clary Sage
    • Lavender
    • Bergamot
    • Roman Chamomile
    • Ylang Ylang
    • Cedarwood
    • Geranium
    • Fennel
    • Carrot
    • Palmarosa

    Lemon kale chips

I love Kale chips!!!  Try this recipe for original flavored kale chips or spice them up with other herbs and essential oils for more options. Try garlic powder, Parmesan cheese, and Lemon oil for an Italian twist, or cumin and Lime oil for Mexican-style chips.

    Ingredients
1 large bunch kale, washed and torn into bite-size pieces
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    2 drops Lemon oil
    Salt & pepper

    Instructions
    1. Preheat oven to 200° F.
    2. Wash and dry kale thoroughly.
    3. Combine olive oil and Lemon oil in large mixing bowl.
    4. Add kale and toss. Make sure kale is well coated with oils.
    5. Once coated, place on baking sheet in single layer.
    6. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    7. Bake on the center rack for 45–50 minutes or until crispy.
Tip: Keep an eye on the smaller pieces and take them out if they are done earlier; otherwise they will burn.
